Q: How much can I afford?
A: Your income, savings, and total debt are all factors that contribute to the size of the loan you can potentially receive from a lender.  Check with a lending professional to find out how much you can afford to spend.

Q: How/where do I get a home loan?
A: There are a wide variety of banks and institutions that offer home loans.  For more information, see our Mortgage information section.

Q: What do I do about insurance?
A:

If you presently carry renters or homeowners insurance, you can most likely transfer the policy to your new home. There may be a slight increase in your premiums, depending on what your current insurance policy is versus what kind of a policy you will need on your new home.

Many companies that offer car insurance also offer homeowner’s insurance; if you currently have car insurance but do not have a homeowner’s policy, check with your insurance company to see if they offer homeowner’s insurance.

Q: How long will it take for my home to be finished?
A: That depends on a few factors. If you bought an inventory home (one that is already built or partially built) it may only take a few weeks to a few months for your home to be ready. If you’re building from the ground up, it typically takes 100 – 120 days for a single family home to be completed once the foundation has been poured. For multifamily homes, it typically takes 150-180 days. Please be sure to ask your sales consultant for a definitive timetable.

Q: Can I bring my pets with me into my new townhome?
A: Typically, our townhome communities allow for a limited number of pets. Check the declaration for the community you’re interested in for specific rules and regulations.
